Because Venice is a romantic city in north-eastern Italy, between the mouths of the Po and the Piave rivers, situated near Padua and Treviso. It’s the perfect place because the lagoon and a part of the city are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its canals, gondolas, ancient buildings and venetian wedding venues to shooting your special unforgettable day.

Best Photoshoot Locations in Venice

The starting point for your wedding photoshoot is of course your Venice Wedding Venue.  But the are a ton of different locations: from a romantic gondola ride under the Bridge of Sighs to the Grand Canal. A romantic early morning photoshoot in St Mark’s Square or a stunning photoshoot by night.

When in Venice, each twist and turn leads you to another canal, where you will find boats parked or a gondola drifting by. Every alley is romantic for a couple. Mysterious and magical, Venice is absolutely one of the most  photogenic cities in the world.

ST MARK’S SQUARE AND ST MARK’S BELL TOWER

Together with St Mark’s bell tower, St Mark’s square is absolutely the most iconic location in Venice.  For this reason it gets really crowded every hour of the day but to make some incredible photos is possible to meet up early in the morning. Moreover it could be funny to take some photos with flyng pigeons. So iconic!!

Saint Mark Square is near the waterway of the lagoon, between the Doge’s Palace and the Biblioteca Marciana on the west.

FLORIAN CAFFE

Caffe Florian is the oldest service café worldwide. A perfect place for art mixed with love and history.  People such as Charles Dickens, Hemingway, or Casanova went to have took a sip of coffee in here.

This caffe is so special and stunning not only for frescoes walls and ceilings but also for the giant mirrors too.

RIVA DEGLI SCHIAVONI

It’s the principal promenade of Venice, close the seaside, you can take epic shots near the gondolas. Taking photos at the sunrise or at the sunset is also very suggestive there.

THE BRIDGE OF SIGHS

Picure this: a romantic photo of you kissing with the Bridge of Sighs behind you. This famous bridge assumes particular importance during a romantic gondola ride. In fact, the legend says “if you kiss on a gondola when passing underneath the Bridge of Sighs, you will enjoy eternal love.” Well, it deserves a try…

DOGE’S PALACE

Built in Venetian Gothic style, it was the residence of the Doge of Venice. It is very popular to take photos under its arcades. Historical tip: since 1567, the Giants’ Staircase is guarded by Sansovino’s two colossal statues of Mars and Neptune. The reason for its name is because these statues represent Venice’s power by land and by sea.

ACCADEMIA BRIDGE

This wooden bridge is one of the four bridges to span the Grand Canal in Venice. From here you can enjoy the beauty of Santa Maria della Salute Church. The view from Accademia Bridge is simply breathtaking!

SANTA MARIA DELLA SALUTE – PUNTA DELLA DOGANA

There is a beautiful location where it is possible to enjoy stunning landscape. Not only the Grand Canal and St Mark’s bell tower but also San Giorgio island as well as Giudecca island.

On the other hand, for a matter of time and distance is a little bit difficult to reach this location. Highly suggested for a Post Wedding Photoshoot.

RIALTO BRIDGE

Rialto Bridge is the oldest bridge in Venice. Originally made of timber, it  was built of stone in 1591 and today is one the most important places to make stunning photos.

SAN GIORGIO MAGGIORE ISLAND

The view of San Giorgio Maggiore island is probably amongst the most photographed sites in the city. Especially for wedding photo sessions.
